Opt-Out/Waiver

To qualify for a waiver, your health insurance plan must meet the requirements as listed below.

1. Provide Primary and Emergency Care within 125 miles of the main UNR campus.
2. Pay 70% or greater for Inpatient Hospitalization.
3. Pay 70% or greater for Inpatient and Outpatient Mental Health benefits.
4. Provide Prescription Medication coverage.
5. Must be a ACA compliant
6. Policy must have an effective date on or prior to the start of the SHIP term date 
7. Have an individual annual deductible of less than $4000

All waivers must be submitted by 11:59 PM on the published waiver deadline to be considered.

Please note: Pooled gifting plans are not accepted as comparable coverage because they are not guaranteed health insurance plans, examples are:
